Love is in the air with shows to charm

The month of love promises to be a busy one in East London with an array of Valentine’s Day events set to take place in and around the city.

On Friday, Nkevastan production­s put on the Black Valentines and speed dating event with Eastern Cape artists Songz, Odwa and Asithandil­e at the King Club in King William’s Town.

Afro-pop artist Songz said his fans should look forward to having fun and listening to good music with their loved one.

The show starts at 5pm and tickets cost R50 at Computicke­t and at the door.

In East London, Geshisto Lifestyle puts on the Monate Mpolaye Loves East London show. It will see East London DJs battle it out at the Atlantis club. Headlining the event will be East London DJ Sumbody, DJs Welo, Blomzit Avenue, Yoba and Mswilliams will be supporting acts.

The event will start at 10pm at a cost of R150, but those who arrive before 10pm will get a R50 discount.

Saturday, the second annual Night of Soul Music will take place @The Venue in Hemingways.

Organiser Nomfezeko Mveku said: “Night of Soul Music is a concept created to attract a market that celebrates love.”

Mthande hitmaker Musa Sukwene will be joined by singer Simmy, Lelo Kamau and 2018 Idols SA finalist Thando. It starts at 6pm and tickets are R250 at Computicke­t.
