Some gains keep bourse on the level

The JSE was little changed on Wednesday, as losses by mining stocks offset gains in most other indices.

The all-share added 0.01% at 58,908.3 points, while the top-40 fell 0.05%. Banks gained 1.19% and industrial­s 0.86%. The resources index slipped 2.23%.

AB InBev fell 1.09% to R1,243.32 and British American Tobacco 1.29% to R566.70. Richemont added 1.96% to R104.66.

Sibanye-Stillwater jumped 6.59% to R14.40. Earlier, a five-month strike at its gold operations came to an end.

Clicks shot up 3.99% to R184.07. EOH added 12.98% to R22.80, extending its 55.23% surge on Tuesday. Mediclinic gained 5.53% to R59.52. Comair remained at R4.50.

At 10.05am the rand was 0.45% firmer at R13.96/$, 0.11% up at R15.81/€ and 0.48% stronger at R18.22/£.
