EL man silent at bail hearing

An East London man accused of raping his ex-girlfriend chose to remain silent when asked to comment on his charges after they were read out to him at his bail application at the East London magistrate’s court on Friday.

Siyabonga Ndeke, 25, claims the woman was his partner at the time of the alleged incident. However the state believes the duo had already broken up when Ndeke forced himself on the woman on May 25 in Scenery Park.

His bail application will resume on Wednesday.
