Men, control your anger

-

Is it becoming more common for cops to shoot and kill their partners, kids and themselves? It’s just happened right here in our Buffalo City Metro (“EL Cop Shoots Wife, then Himself,” DD, May 27).

Why does it happen? Is anger management not part of police training? Are they not ready to take certain kinds of pressure? Is there a need to change their training course? Infidelity happens to other men too.

May I share my story with you? I was born and bred in a township, and never stayed in a rural area.

At some stage I bought a house for my wife and my kids but out of the blue my wife made some very serious mistakes.

Because I was brought up by Christians and was lucky as a retailer, I managed my anger. I left her with my kids in the house and went to stay with my parents.

All I’m saying to cops – and other men out there – even if you are angry, instead of killing people like a coward, rather just leave them. Feelings pass. I’m living a very good life again now. – Mzwandile Mqotyana, via e-mail
