Anything Goes ready to run

-

Unbeaten Anything Goes, who is carded to run in Saturday’s Grade 2 Joburg Spring F&M Challenge over 1450m on the Turffontein Inside track, remains top of the table for the R900,000 Emperors Palace Ready To Run Cup (Presented by Bloodstock South Africa) over 1400m at Turffontein on Saturday 31 October.

War Of Athena is in second spot, followed by Miss Elegance and Afternoon Tea.

Fifth-placed MK’s Pride did run and win last week, but his merit rating went up just five points and that keeps him one point below

Afternoon Tea.

However, Somasonic from the Sean Tarry yard scored an impressive one-length debut win in Race 2 at Turffontein on Saturday and has moved into sixth spot.

The other significant mover was Furtura’s Hope from the Brett Crawford yard who, although did not win at Durbanville last Saturday, finished a 0.30-length second behind Double Blue, which has seen his merit rating upped to 84 and that moves him into joint ninth spot.

The Non-Black Type Emperors Palace Ready To Run Cup is run over 1400m and is open to eligible graduates of the 2019 Bloodstock South Africa Emperor’s Palace Summer Ready To Run Sale.

The field will be limited to 16 runners plus two reserves.

The race forms part of the Grade 2 Peermont Emperors Palace Charity Mile race meeting and incudes three Grade 3 races. They are The Graham Beck Stakes for three-year-olds, the HSH Princess Charlene Starling Stakes for three-year-old fillies – both over 1400m – and the Yellowwood Handicap over 1800m for fillies and mares. –
