In face of Covid, Bible truth trumps science

- Khotso KD Moleko, via e-mail

I t will take a long time for humans to admit that science has brought more calamity than blessings to the earth and humanity.

Before the outbreak of the coronavirus, human confidence in human abilities had reached high levels of insanity.

Talk about how new technology would be the answer to everything became the mark of true intelligence.

Alternative explanations about possible future events, particularly Biblical narratives, were dismissed with scorn and utmost contempt as foolish myths by many.

Then came the coronavirus and all the confidence and certainty disappeared.

Each soul (except for the scared essential workers), led by the politicians themselves, went to hide at home as an invisible enemy put to waste all scientific might.

But let us go back a little bit and start with the two world wars. In these wars emerged destructive weapons designed by scientists to take the life of fellow human beings.

Not only that, these wars and the following ones, disturbed the ecosystems and destroyed the habitats of many animals and humans.

As things stand, many animals have become extinct and there is not a unique scientific formula to recreate them.

In fact, I do not know of any scientist that has managed to recreate what humans inherited from nature and then destroyed. Rather, we have scientists mixing the genes of humans and animals and producing all sorts of disturbing creatures.

Added to these scientific outcomes is climate change, where the very existence of humanity is at stake.

Sadly, scientists and politicians do not want to be honest about the deadly realities and consequences of global warming. The current fashionable presumption is for everyone to heap praise on science.

But this will turn sour in times to come because the coronavirus has given ideas to future dictators.

In future, lockdowns will be more useful in exercising control over the citizens and freedoms of a country than saving lives. Nobody can deny that science has made life easier for humans and definitely, scientific measures are effective in preventing human suffering against plagues like Covid-19.

But in the long run, more disadvantages than advantages from science are emerging and becoming a norm.

If science cannot recreate nature, it offers no hope for the future but doom.

I will stick to the prophecies in the Bible.
