Chippa United will be desperate to chalk up their first threepointer of the Dstv Premiership this season when they host Maritzburg United at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Tuesday (7.30pm).

The Port Elizabeth team has only managed to secure one point from their first matches after playing to a 1-1 draw against Cape Town City followed by a 1-0 loss to Kaizer Chiefs.

Considering that the team is basically new after the release of 15 player ahead the start of the new season, Chilli Boys coach Lehlohonolo Seema said he was satisfied with how his young troops had done so far.

The 40-year-old former Orlando Pirates player said his side had put previous mistakes behind them and were now hungry for a win on Tuesday.

We know that we are coming up against another difficult team again and a hard running team, Maritzburg,” Seema said.

If you check, our first three games are against teams who finished in the top eight last season and that is a really good test for our young team.

We are happy with the way we have been holding ourselves and are going to continue working hard.

We cannot fault the guys, they are trying and they are working hard.

The attitude is good, they are “fighting and it s just those moments when you see that once the team gels well, we will take our opportunities when they come and be able to punish teams.

But we are expecting a very difficult game against Martizburg.

They are looking for their “first win and so are we, so it is going to be a very close contest.

I think this time we are hungrier “than them and hopefully on the day we can get the result that we are looking for,” he said.

After Tuesday night s game, the Chilli Boy will enjoy a twoweek international break which Seema will use to his benefit.

The break will come in “handy for us to try and get our philosophy and structure right. I think it s a blessing in disguise that after three games we ll have a little bit of a break so that we can polish the things we need to and understand them better.

Hopefully we will do better in the next game after the break.

Our international players will be going home so we will have to prepare without them, but that s the nature of of the game.
