Boardwalk cements itself as Bay’s playground

-

After 21 years of creating special memories and happy times, the Boardwalk in Nelson Mandela Bay has opened the final phase of its new mall in time for its 22nd birthday, cementing the hotel, casino and entertainment complex as the Bay’s playground.

The 24,000sqm Boardwalk Mall was developed by Flanagan & Gerard Group and Emfuleni Resorts, a subsidiary of Sun International.

It is the result of the extension and upgrade of the Boardwalk Precinct, and brings an exciting array of world-class convenience and entertainment to Gqeberha.

It features 92 stores and is anchored by the first Checkers, Woolworths Food and DisChem stores in the beachfront area, complemented by a Pick n Pay and Clicks.

There are also the latest VIP cinema upgrades from NuMetro, as well as the City’s first Doppio Zero restaurant and Paul’s Ice Cream coming soon.

It includes the new multifunctional openair Sunpark events arena, where sporting games have already been shown on the big screen.

The precinct is adjacent to the four-star Boardwalk Hotel and Convention Centre, as well as the popular Boardwalk Casino, which earlier this year unveiled their new look Salon Privé aka Charter Club, keeping abreast with the centre’s fresher look.

“It has been a busy year for the hotel as Covid restrictions lifted and bookings for hotel stays and conferences rapidly increased.

The pace won’t slow down now as we enter the final two months of the year,” Boardwalk general manager Tati Tsunke said.

The Casino is in its second month of the Heeltyd is Speeltyd campaign, which sees four cars given away over four months to qualifying Sun MVG loyalty members.

“We look forward to a bumper season and welcoming our regulars from both near and far, as well as meeting new faces,” Tsunke said.

The Boardwalk is giving away a two-night stay for two, including breakfast, valued at over R10,000 valid for six months, to a lucky Daily Dispatch reader.
