Top artists to light up Berlin November stage

-

Some of SA’S biggest musicians are ready to blow their Eastern Cape fans away this weekend at the eagerly awaited Berlin November horse-racing extravaganza.

Artists are set to dazzle music lovers during the ninth annual event, which takes place over three days starting on Friday, in Ntabozuko, formerly Berlin.

The event unites horse-racing lovers, socialites and fashionistas from across the country.

Award-winning crooner Samthing Soweto returns to the province soon after performing at East London’s Guild Theatre as part of his countrywide tour.

Samthing Soweto, real name Samkelo Mdolomba, said he was excited to be hitting the Berlin November stage.

He loved the vibe and energy when he performed at the Guild Theatre and had no doubt he would enjoy the Berlin November.

“I will be performing a lot of songs that many people love, from my debut album ‘Isiphithiphithi’, which has crowd favourites such as ‘Amantombazane’, ‘AMA DM’ and one of the songs that came out this year that has received much love, ‘Amagents’.

“I am excited to come back to the Eastern Cape and [enjoy] everything about it. I love the cities, the vibes and the people, who are so friendly.”

Mdolomba said it was always nerve-racking to perform but he would be happy after he had done his show.

“I am looking forward to the Berlin. I performed there a few months ago and it was fun.”

Another big name who will be on the decks is Mafadi Mogale, also known as Senior Oat.

Mogale has had a huge breakout year with his smash song ‘All in You’.

“I am super excited and humbled about the Berlin November.

“It is an opportunity of a lifetime, to put it in few words — excited kind of blurs the feeling.”

His fans can expect to be dazzled with good music and fun singalong songs. “They should expect a few exclusive songs that will go out early in 2023. It’s not about the hype of the music but the experience.

“Songs you can expect include ‘All in You’, ‘Give me Jesus’, ‘S’khanyisele’, ‘Destiny’ and many more.”

Gospel star Betusile Mcinga and other Eastern Cape artists will perform alongside Mdolomba and Mogale.

The event will have six marquees and host its Summer Stage music festival.
