Your soapbox debate
I love receiving and reading DM168 every weekend and get extra copies for my friends who are equally enthusiastic. Thank you for offering such a wide selection of articles and interests. I never cease to wonder at the quality of your excellent journalists and the careful research that they painstakingly and bravely divulge. How fortunate we are to receive such in-depth analysis, especially in these challenging and disheartening days.
I loved the story of Thoko Ndlozi, the pangolin, the Woodstock Brewery, always the Opinion & Analysis and the Life section especially. Tony Jackman’s food offerings are always very tempting, so on Sunday I decided to try his Rustic Tomato Tart.
All lovely, except he didn’t mention the size of the oven pan, and for how many people the recipe was intended. The illustration was especially enticing, but not an accurate portrayal of the proportions used in the recipe – it probably comprised half of the given recipe and was the size that I would have preferred, but I got more than I bargained for!
Nevertheless, trial and error is always a good thing and I certainly will use the recipe again, modifying the ingredients and size of pan depending on my catering numbers.
Thank you again to you and your team for helping to make my weekends so satisfying!
LET’S NOT FORGET THE RESTAURANT MANAGEMENT AND STAFF THIS WAS A JOURNALISM OF MEMORIES, OF NOSTALGIA
