Ebola continues to spread in neighbouri­ng Uganda, but the DRC has declared an end to its 15th outbreak, in which only one case was confirmed. DRC Public Health Minister Mbungani Mbanda said the outbreak had officially ended, in accordance with World Health Organizati­on guidelines, after no new cases had been confirmed for 42 days. The one patient, a 46-yearold woman in North Kivu province, died during the outbreak, making it the DRC’s least deadly outbreak. Meanwhile, Ugandan health authoritie­s said the number of confirmed and suspected Ebola deaths had risen to 23 since its outbreak was announced last week. The Sudan Ebola strain is spreading in Uganda while DRC faced the Zaire strain.
