Famous harmonies and falsettos

success from their early years, through the disco era and even touching on some of the Gibb brothers’ solo releases.

The success of the show lies in the fact that it is not a boring chronological album-by-album look at the Bee Gees, but an eclectic mix of historical fact, character impersonations by the band and very interesting video footage inserts (played on big screens) of the Bee Gees in action. Those videos played to the live singing of the band really makes this show an experience, almost as if you are at an actual Bee Gees concert back in the day – very clever!

According to the promoters, the Bee Gees tribute has been successfully performed before more than one million people in sold-out shows across the globe since 1996. And after seeing these guys in action, I can believe that.

With Grey on guitar/vocals; Tingey on vocals and SpencerSmith on keys/guitar/vocals, the planning of this musical tribute has hit the nail on the head.

Throughout the night songs such as Massachusetts, How Can You Mend a Broken Heart? and Emotions had the crowd in the hall singing along and swaying from side to side.

Hits such as Jive Talking, Night Fever, Grease and Staying Alive had most everyone on their feet and dancing, while harmonies and medleys of Mr Jones, Too Much Heaven, and my personal favourite, the full performance of How Deep Is Your Love?, left me with goose pimples.

Possibly the closest you’ll ever get to seeing a Bee Gees concert in Durban, this is definitely one any Bee Gees fan and all lovers of good music will not want to miss.
