Who is to blame when there are certain areas of Stella Road in Malvern, which was getting retarred a few months ago, is not completely tarred along the entire width of this road, resulting in uneven surfaces at certain places? Seems like somebody forgot to complete this project because contractor­s are concentrat­ing on the pavements on this stretch of road.

Daily News reported that it would take 82 years for the eThekwini Municipali­ty to clear housing backlog. Ironically, many of those who live in shacks in squalid conditions in the eThekwini region vote ANC; this guarantees the ANC victory at least for the next 82 years.

I am from the city of Edinburgh, and I think Durban is fantastic. The beachfront is great but where are the benches for people to just sit and look out over the ocean? If I was in charge, I would have benches all along the beach from SunCoast to uShaka. If it’s too costly, do what Edinburgh has done in Princess Street: the benches there are memorials for loved ones sponsored by their families. Mike McDonald.
