event. They were approached by Martin McHale (co-owner of Origin and a DJ) to be part of this life-changing experience.

“The way rhinos are being slain for their body parts is really sad, so given the opportunity to help prevent this, I know I can make a difference working with other DJs to help raise funds,” said DJ Nemesis.

Adding to this, DJ Dizruptkidd said: “Donating my time DJ-ing to save a rhino, an iconic symbol of South Africa, is a pleasure.”

DJ Amigo also feels strongly about the cause and says it is our responsibility to look after the planet and its animals: “With little acts of kindness and heart, we can make that difference.”

In a statement, McHale said it was all about partying for the cause: “Our challenge is for everyone to come to the party – let’s do it for the rhino!”

Explaining his reasons for hosting this event, another co-owner of the club, Dax Tucker, said: “We’re doing this because we feel passionately about the plight of the rhino, and we will also feel good about ultimately making a difference to the rhino situation. Neither Origin nor any of the sponsors will be taking anything off the money collected.”

Through the Give It Horns party, the DJs hope to create awareness on rhino poaching. According to DJ Spindoctor, guests who attend can expect it to be “one of the best DJ line-ups I’ve seen in a while. Bigups to them for contributing their time”.
