Son found via phone tracking

- YOGAS NAIR

THREE weeks after a Phoenix mother reported her son missing, a former policeman tracked him to Kimberley, using cellphone technology.

Thugandren “Theron” Nadasen, 26, went missing at Gateway, after parking his vehicle, on his way to work.

Yesterday his mother, Vasie Govender, confirmed her son was back at home.

“He is in hospital recovering. I cannot divulge details at this stage about where he was or how he got there. We are trying to come to terms with the past three weeks.”

Police spokesman, Captain Thulani Zwane, said Nadasen was found in Bloemfontein.

Former policeman, Mukesh Mansoor, said he learnt Nadasen had been missing from a former colleague.

“He was a concerned family friend and asked me to assist. I agreed to use the latest cellphone technology to track him down. I put surveillance on his phone and fortunately, within a day or two, managed to trace him to Kimberley.

“Police there were alerted and fetched him from a lodge. He appeared disorientated and depressed. His family later fetched him.”

At the time, family members said they had seen video from a surveillance camera that showed Nadasen parking his company vehicle and getting out of it, before the camera swivelled to another view.

Nadasen, a production manager at Thekweni Reinforcing, a construction company, disappeared.
