ANC under fire for economic plans and school books

-

Until the ANC actually implement any of their radical economic plans, I will treat them as simply another pipe dream and ploy to remain on the throne. Boerseun 1652.

ANC’s second transition document for socio-economic reform is a case of buying time. After 18 years it’s obvious the ANC is to blame and not “top white men”. South Africa needs men and women of integrity who will serve all people and destroy this gravy train which shamefully serves itself. Vote wisely, South Africans.

The only way the school textbook problem can be solved, as with all the problems facing South Africa, is for all the parents in the country to vote the totally useless ANC out of government at the next election. There is no other way.

The letters ANC stand for Arrogance, Nepotism and Corruption; three things for which the organisation is noted.

So Mr Zuma has sleepless nights about poverty here. What does he think, then, of the R68 million being spent on his Nkandla retirement compound. What a hypocrite! Cass.

Now that Mr Zuma has his machine gun out again, maybe he should load it and get rid of all the thieves and crime in the government services. The poor and jobless need that money. Pops.

So Zuma has sleepless nights about poverty. My foot! If he suffers from such anguish, he would scrap the ministerial handbook, stop his government from plundering our taxes left right and centre, sell his jet, cut all wasteful spending and show us he really means to put an end to corruption and gross mismanagement and theft of our taxes by his ministers. How on earth can we believe this man on poverty when he is living like a king? I for one do not believe a word of his. Nel.

Why is Ronald Lamola, the deputy president of the ANCYL, in trouble with the ANC for reportedly saying that President Jacob Zuma is putting his home town, Nkandla, ahead of the rest of the country? People are not blind, nor is Lamola. What Lamola said is very true and should be fully supported for bravely saying it like how it is. Ismail M Moolla, Umzinto.

Royal Household Trust money is taxpayers’ money. Anyone who is suspected of stealing taxpayers’ money should be charged and put on trial. BM.

Instead of people defrauding all these governmental departments, why not have a “Fraudsters Fund?”. Then all the taxpayers can deposit money directly into that account for those depraved thieves.

Suggestion: freeze the assets (including pension) of all Addington staff accused of fraud and put their money back into the Health Department. This will help to deter other potential fraudsters.

Addington Hospital: same old trick as before. Pay for goods not received and split the payment with a procurement clerk. Now you know where the stock goes. GD.

Land restoration in SA is a difficult and painful process. I think that if a farmer has been farming for 30 years or more and has 500ha or more, then he should part with 25 percent of his farm at a minimal compensation and teach the incumbent how to be productive so as not to lose out. This way both parties will be happy and reconciliation will be kept alive. Yusuf.

The Limpopo school textbook episode is unacceptable. Fire the whole lot. The Don.

Six months of the year already over and schoolchildren don’t have books. But everybody was promised they would have books at the start of the school year. What a joke this is. We are living in cloud cuckoo land. Bet we will hear the same story at the beginning of 2013.

Ronaldo

Loverboy Ronaldo spent more time looking at himself on the big screen above than at the ball at his feet. No wonder Portugal couldn’t score. Viva España!

Ronaldo waits for “glory” to the end that never came. He takes the blame as a captain for not being there for his team and his country. His waiting robbed him of taking the last penalty kick because Spain won on the fourth spot kick. No glory for Ronaldo or Portugal. Germany await Spain in the final. Brian Jayanathan, Tongaat.

Roads

Government must legislate that all motorists should be in possession of balance of third party insurance at least. Tired of being hit by uninsured drivers. Edmac.

So if the fastest you can drive on any road is 120km/h, why make cars that go way faster than that? Okay, so how’s this: fit a device on all taxis that limits the vehicle to 120km/h or even 100km/h. Sure, they might find a way to bypass the system, so then if found doing that, impound the vehicle and take away licence to operate.

I say “no” to fuel increases to pay for roads. Why should I pay for roads in Gauteng when I won’t even use them? Toll roads are the best because people who make use of those roads need to pay. Gregg.

Odds and ends

A toast to the Cato Manor Organised Crimes Unit: to their bravery, commitment, love and to the sacrifices of the job. You made a difference and we salute you. And to all those other policemen and women who have their heart and soul in the SAPS, keep up the good work. And to all the others who regard the police as “just a job”, can you look in the mirror and be proud? MM, Exmember, Durban Dog Unit.

South Africa is in intensive care and we still want to aggravate it further by requesting religious holidays? What nonsense. Embarassed Hindu.

I was visited by very rude labour inspectors checking if my staff are registered. All clear here, but I wonder if all the taxi drivers and conductors are registered and do they check on them?

Bob of Wentworth, I also would like to know when the MIP surplus fund will pay us what is due. Phoned the department and was that told confirmation letters would be posted to all by the end of July. Arthur A, Wentworth.

To all the staff at Malvern Postnet. Thanks for the wonderful service and kindness I was given, and to the lady from Home Affairs, Mrs du Plessis in Pretoria. Thanks to her, I am a happily married woman tonight!

If I train my dog to do tricks and then parade him around the district, would this amount to animal abuse? The animals in the circus are treated better than most pets.

Can anyone shed some light on this military veteran grant for those SADF who did military training during the apartheid era?

Estate agents: people do not realise the amount of effort we have to put into arranging an appointment. Many clients do not pitch or SMS, cancelling half an hour before an appointment. Estate agents do not get a salary: they work purely on commission and in today’s economic climate, times are hard. We wait three months for money to be paid. Public, please treat us with careful consideration. Nicci.

Chaos reigns at the Unisa website because of maintenance and overload of users for several days. Unable to submit my assignment electronically. Frustrated student.

Board games: police management want to know four years later why the board games were not distributed. Why didn’t they check in 2008? That means the police department do not have checks and balances. And I don’t understand why the police department does not concentrate on fighting crime instead of giving gifts using our money. Pathetic.
