Animated movies allow imaginations to run wild

-

ANIMATION films have such prominence, they’re almost always successful, even when they do not have the best storyline. The reason is people are attracted to the art of animation.

It is a moving work of art that provides a physical materialisation of the imagination. It allows people to escape their lives and explore a world where anything is possible.

While animated movies are generally made for children, older audiences also enjoy them. The love for a fantasy world filled with adventure and mystery draws in the bucks and holds an audience.

Children become fans of a set of characters or a specific storyline. Film companies sometimes take advantage of this and produce more films in the franchise, leading to not one but four sequels.

And this becomes easy as the characters and storylines have already been developed and the animation artists have already worked out their winning formula.

Pixar’s first feature film, Toy Story, with its four sequels, is its highest-grossing film.

Another four-film animation franchise is Dreamworks’ Shrek, popularised for its adult interest, with many mature jokes.

Then there’s Madagascar, which is on its third production, and might just follow with a fourth. – Tina George
