Is it possible for communities to resign from the municipalities and pay rates to a private association to maintain and service communities? And all government-allocated funds to that area be transferred to that association.
This is just not on: six months without street lights. Then one day and night with lights, then the next night, cable thieves have a good time. Somebody is not doing their homework properly.

Driving
Young male drivers must get married before being allowed to drive. The total lack of accountability to an immediate family is making these brats brazenly irresponsible. Dada-adam-kabaap.
Bryce Moon was fined R60 000, but nothing goes to the victim’s family. SADD asks for the victims of crashes to get compensation. In addition, his drink driving charge could not be proved because of poor police work. SADD asks for all drivers to be tested for alcohol and/or drugs at every crash scene where a death or serious injury occurred. Caro Smit.
Drunken driving and talking on cellphones while driving are the main causes of accidents. Their licences must be cancelled and their vehicles forfeited to the state.
Odds and ends
Ismail Yusuf and Milo Mahomed had some valid points concerning Israel and the need for serious dialogue to happen soon. My concern is that, in general, Muslims do not stand up against the terribly repressive regimes of (for example) Iran, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. A Palestinian in Israel has far more rights and is much safer than a Christian would ever be in these Islamic states. VT.
Humans worldwide aren’t remorseful any more. From the bombings, war across the globe from the Middle East to the US, killing wildlife or supporting circuses that abuse animals. What has happened to our world of love, tolerance, peace and compassion to any life on Earth? Salaam and Peace. Sham.
Where is the justice in this country? Thugs kill a man after a rugby match and are granted bail the same time; but four accused, including mothers, are remanded for seven days for allegedly stealing from a jewellery shop.
Don’t you just love it: it doesn’t matter what the crime, those in the dock always have a smile and are joking. They know the punishment will not fit the crime. Glen.
I am extremely upset at the lack of service I get from my bank. They never have enough staff and still have the cheek to ask me to rate their service. I don’t think banks care about their customers any more. They just want their profit.
So now some companies want to exploit our rhinos by offering to donate part of the money spent with them for goods or services towards the funding of rhino anti-poaching efforts. The bottom line is that money will not help with the protection of rhinos: the government needs to step in and deal with these poachers. Venod.

I cannot understand the big protest about animals in the Boswell Circus. It seems these protesters have no other work to do. There are far greater issues concerning how people are abused and killed in our country. I, for one, love to see animals in any circus.
