Man in court over child pornography
A 39-YEAR-OLD Kloof man has been arrested for child pornography, police said today. He was expected to appear in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court today.
Police spokesman, Colonel Jay Naicker, said the Pinetown Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offenses Unit had conducted an investigation after they received information of a man in possession of child pornography.
The investigation led police to arrest the man in Pietermaritzburg, where he had moved.
“In August 2014, police obtained a search warrant to search his residence in Old Main Road. He was found in possession of a memory stick with child pornography.”
After the investigation was completed, police arrested the suspect.
He was charged for being in possession of child pornography and contravening the Film and Publications Act.
