AmaZulu need to bounce straight back

MAZULU’S relegation from the top flight over the weekend will come as a huge disappointment to local football fans.

This has been offset by Golden Arrows’ swift return to the Premier Soccer League after just one season in the National First Division. And perhaps AmaZulu can take a leaf out of Arrows’ book and emulate them next season.

Since taking over an all-but-lost cause with AmaZulu sitting on four points after 11 games, last November, Steve Barker came within a whisker of achieving the impossible. He guided the team to 27 points, just three shy of a play-off place, and should be given a chance to return the Durban-based side to the top division.
