AKSHAY’S A GOOD BAD GUY
GABBARis Back begins a new debate about the political stability of India. Made with an exaggerated opinion on the issue of corruption, the film fails to make a solid impact. Plot: When Ajay (Akshay Kumar) is unsympathetically aggrieved, taking the law into his own hands becomes his only option.
After the political system fails to assist Ajay, he is forced to turn into a vigilante, desperate to seek revenge for his losses in life. Ajay becomes a selfconverted gabbar (villain) on order to abolish corruption in his country.

Verdict: The adrenalin-fuelled narrative is a clear example of the writer’s intention to create sensationalism.
Considering the lack of logic and common sense in the screenplay, it is left up to the action to carry the burden of the storyline.
It’s evident that Jagarlamudi relies heavily on the action to distract audiences from noticing the numerous loopholes in the script.
There are a couple of twists in the second half which are outnumbered by the “good vs evil” clichés.
Amid the predictability, the director is able to put together a thrill feast which might keep the viewer engaged. The cleverly executed action sequences, assembled with superb editing techniques, keep the tension levels high.
The glorification of political injustices can prove to be intensely disturbing, especially with a villainous character at the helm of the story.
Given that there have been tons of similar films in the past, this one is irresponsible in portraying the extremist angle, manipulating an anti-government movement.
Akshay deserves praise for his ability to shift character types from melodramatic to action hero. He is both suave and convincing in his role.
Shruti Hassan holds her own during the dramatic portions. There are many scenes where the young star compares favourably in this male-dominated film. Digvijay Patil and Suman Talwar are credible supporting performers. Recommendation: An action entertainer by Bollywood standards, purely for escapism purposes. ● Celebrity journalist and media personality, Varshan Sookhun, presents the popular lifestyle show The Midday Spice on Lotus FM, 92.5 to 103.8 FM, Monday to Friday, noon to 3pm.
