Musgrave library

Correction: The eThekwini Municipality has alerted the to a BackChat, published on October 20 which claimed that the Musgrave Library was closed until next year. eThekwini deputy head of communications, Mandla Nsele, said yesterday the library was not closed and is fully operational. “The Municipality assures patrons that all eThekwini libraries, including Musgrave, are open and are operational as per usual. Libraries will only be closed on public holidays, and these dates are clearly displayed on notice boards at the libraries. For enquiries, members of the public can contact 031 311 2495.”

Musgrave Library is open, it is not closed. I am studying there. The days that it is closed over the holidays are written on the door. Zinhle.

The Musgrave library is open. I was there yesterday. The sign on the door indicates the public holidays that it will be closed. Further my elderly mom was given a little sheet with her books to say when it will be closed. Wrong information, guys. Loving Son.

Robert McBride’s challenge to Hawks head to submit to polygraph test live on TV to determine the truth, sets a benchmark for everyone who says they speak the truth. A polygraph test is 99% accurate, therefore not accepted in court, but nearest to the truth other than reading a human mind. I have seen it many times expose lies. SAM.

DA Ward 70 members issued Christmas Food Hamper vouchers to the poor people. But most of the vouchers were taken by the members of the DA for themselves and their families. These members are very greedy.

Thanks to Vincent Smith and his team of MPs who told Prof Maguvhe that he was being misled by attempting to block the sitting of the SABC inquiry. We heard that SABC bought an Audi A8 for him to travel in comfort. Hlaudi Motsoeneng dishes patronage in return for blind loyalty. The Friends of Jacob Zuma Trust collected millions to help Zuma live a high life after Thabo Mbeki correctly dismissed him. When will people learn that when the going gets tougher, Zuma dumps you? Ask Ellen Khuzwayo, Dina Pule, Marius Fransman? Next to fall are Motsoeneng and Muthambi. FK, KwaMakhutha.

Is SABC’s Maguvhe’s first name Professor, or is this his qualification?

Watched Everton playing Liverpool on Monday night. The talking point of this game was the tackle Ross Barkley made on Jordan Henderson. It was a tackle that was worthy of a red card. The tackle could have broken Henderson’s leg. Instead, Barkley was shown a yellow card. This tackle took place in full view of the match officials, with the assistant referee waving his flag to grab the attention of the referee, of a foul being committed. I am sure if the referee had consulted with his assistant, he would have got a different view of the foul seeing he (the referee) was behind the players concerned, and this may have obstructed his view of this incident. These players are national teammates, yet one tackle could have ended the other’s playing career. PS.

Odds and ends

I agree with B Calderwood concerning re-positioning of sensitive notices. Most undignified with all those tacky for sale adverts. It was for this reason I refrained from inserting an In Memoriam notice for my late husband.

To the Sydenham taxi owners: please talk to your drivers. Their driving is bad around Sydenham. When a car is following the taxi, it will suddenly stop on the road, and to hell with other road users. When you confront the driver, they tell you to back off before there is a death. Please talk to your drivers, they do not care where and how they park, they own the road. Could the metro police please come sort these taxis out before people get killed by these drivers, or some will end up hitting the drivers. Randles Road is a very narrow road. Please help before it’s too late.

“The world will not be destroyed by those who do evil, but those who watch them without doing anything. Support the Syria tragedy fund raising drive… Do it now. Saalams and Duas, Yusuf Patel.

845 dead on our roads this month already, and still no action to lower speed limits and save lives. Richard Benson.

Mr Richard Benson how right you are. What would make a big difference would be applying the same law to the taxi industry. McQuire N J.
