From strength to strength

-

BRADLEY and Paula Hunt would be married for 21 years on February 17. This is their love story: “My wife Paula and I met at our church and did not really connect at all when we first met.

One day I had a strange experience. We were at a get-together with mutual friends one afternoon when I happened to randomly stare across the room and saw Paula. I distinctly had this feeling that she would be my wife, but because I had no feelings for her, I put that thought on the shelf and forgot about it.

I decided one day that it was time to find a few girls, four, that I liked and would get to know them on a platonic level before choosing one that I felt would be my wife. I was 25 at the time and never had a girlfriend, but always believed if you intended to get serious with a girl then it was for life. So I had to choose carefully.

A few months later, a group of us went on a hike in the Drakensberg and for the first time I really “noticed” Paula. The other girls seemed to be superfluous whenever I was with her, then I knew she was the one.

There was chemistry from both sides. We were completely different, but complemented each other and still do.

Paula was quiet and reserved but had an adventurous side to her, and I was outgoing and loved socialising.

We began to pursue each other until the day arrived that I asked if she wanted to go out on a date. When she said okay, I followed up with the question, ‘You do realise that it is for life?’

She casually responded ‘Yes’ and we were married three months later.

Our relationship has grown from strength to strength. We love each other more than we ever have on a deeper level.” – Bradley Hunt
