Strong Bafana
BAFANA Bafana, sporting one of their strongest squads in a long time, dispatched the unheralded Guinea-Bissau 3-1 at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday to hopefully put all the negative publicity surrounding their former coach and match-fixing allegations behind them.
Nicknamed the Wild Dogs, Guinea-Bissau are ranked 80th in the world, 18 positions below 62nd-ranked Bafana.
Former Orlando Pirates attacker Kermit Erasmus made an emphatic return from the international wilderness, scoring from the penalty spot and was heavily involved when Bafana were on offence.
Up next is the lowly 147th-ranked Angola in East London tomorrow night. Let’s hope “The Boys” can continue their upward curve.
