‘Ahmed Kathrada leaves a legacy’

The Desmond Tutu Foundation director, Brian Rusch, described him as an inspiration to millions.

The South African Council of Churches said Kathrada was “a deep reservoir of national wisdom dressed in the gentle humility of his person – a gentle giant”.

Fakir Hassan, journalist and author, said: “He leaves a legacy for all South Africans.”
