E PEEK Durban ON NUMEROUS occasions recently, the Daily News has exposed the appalling situation in the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health. There has been very little reaction or concern from the Health Department in response.

I mourn the loss of our humanity, and I hang my head in shame.

The poor, who cannot afford private healthcare, have been forced into receiving inhumane treatment at government hospitals. They have been kicked in the face.

With such appalling conditions, it is time for urgent interventi­on at national level. It is a sad indictment of our once proud government hospitals.

KwaZulu-Natal is in this state because we always vote for the same party, which no longer feels it has to provide for all of us.

Maybe it is time for a change. All the ANC can say now is that apartheid will come back if we don’t vote for it.

Thankfully we have the Daily News and seasoned reporter Chris Ndaliso to probe the poor service delivery and expose the rot and appalling conditions in the Health Department. DHAYALAN MOODLEY
