Filthy city shows lack of discipline – our major weakness
Politics
Edward Zuma ONLY apologised because of the pressure from ANC. I firmly believe that he spewed his hatred, and deep down in his heart, he holds firmly to his hatred. If he was genuinely remorseful, why did he apologise only after the deadline had passed? This is arrogance to its maximum. Edward Zupta, you can fool some, not all. (m)
Communities are the only ones who can stop corrupt and unfair practices by government officials and politicians. Communities are slowly rising against nepotism and corrupt activities in the government space, as we observed with appointments at schools. We all know of how appointments are rigged at schools. Corruption can’t continue unabated while we, honest members of the community, sit back. Let’s protest when unfairness or corrupt activities emerge at schools, clinics and other local government structures.
Julius Malema
As usual, no thought went into making ridiculous comments. Is this the way to score brownie points with KZN voters? It gives you a clear indication of where this country will be heading. It’s truly sad. It’s simple: if anyone believes they are being ill-treated, resign or lodge a formal complaint.
Julius Malema says the EFF’s future in South Africa was in townships like uMlazi and KwaMashu squatter camps. Does he think other race groups are not oppressed? Wake up, Julius, and smell the coffee.
Odds and ends
I was wondering whether the black principal issue would have been this big if the principal was white? KFC Phoenix 2: The service at this outlet is pathetic. I waited just over an hour for a 7-piece family order and finally I had to ask for my money back. Customers who ordered long after me were served. Customers were frustrated. Looks like the owners are not interested in service delivery, just the money. Was a KFC customer.
Garage incident: On July 2 I filled my vehicle at BP Moore Road Service Station. The attendant Warren filled petrol and cleaned the windscreen. I handed Warren a fistful of coins as a tip, which he discarded into a trash bin. When I enquired, he rudely gestured that I piss off. I approached his manager, who assured me that corrective action would be taken. As I approached my vehicle to leave, Warren questioned me whether I complained to the manager, and remarked ‘Well done’, to wild applause from his colleagues. I urge motorists not to tip attendants. As much as I am generalising, I feel they are ungrateful. Mr. S Naidoo.
Athletics South Africa seems awfully quiet on the latest Semenya debate. Seems like she’s the only one who has the balls to face the media. I met her and she’s all woman. You go, girl. Masala Maharaj.
The biggest weakness most South Africans have is discipline – in just about everything. Durban is full of paper bins in the hundreds, but the city is so dirty. Bins are not being used, be it on the beach, bus stations and not to mention taxi ranks. At the famous Early Market the rats are the size of cats.
Oxford supermarket: Ash, I am one of those opposed to the illegal supermarket rezoning and the hospital. You should worry about informal housing behind Westcliff Flats and let us worry about our properties. The only people who will be licking wounds are those who accepted bribes and will be in jail soon. Aluta continua.
