A reader thinks that Jimmy Manyi is a ‘Gupta front man’
Politics
Anyone remember the song
It’s just like our politics and this ANC government. “The Bull goes on...” When are we going to sit up and realise enough is enough? Zuma. Guptas. Corruption. Zuma. Guptas. Corruption. Come on, enough already. JP
If I was in charge of SAA, I would immediately stop all free flights for parliamentarians and their extended families. I would put strict procurement procedures in place and, in no time at all, will I turn this Albatross around. JGV
Inciting people to rebel against the authority. So unless sedition is legal in SA, instead of impotently lamenting about political opportunists, the ANC city council should do its job and effectively deal with land invasions and its instigators.
Guptas
Seeing that banks don’t want to do business with the Guptas, they (the Guptas) have found a way to overcome the problem. They are using Manyi as a frontman to get our banks to do business with them. By “selling” their businesses to Manyi, our banks will be obliged to do business with him. Selling their companies to Manyi is just a smokescreen. The Guptas and our corruption addicted government are not fooling us with these dealings. You may fool some of the people some of time, but you cannot fool them all the time.
Where on earth did Jimmy Manyi get R450 million to buy the ANN7 TV station and New Age newspaper? Remember these businesses previously belonged to the Guptas, our president’s close allies, and so is Manyi, so there is a strong possibility Pesident Jacob Zuma has his hands in ANN7 and the New Age. He is only using Manyi as a cover. EK.
Odds and ends
The eThekwini Municipality electricity department sucks. The cashiers are so rude and unhelpful. I went there to pay an account and was rudely told “We don’t accept payment if you don’t have a light bill”. How many get bills? Paying customers get treated like trash yet those in informal settlements get free electricity. The municipality needs to send their staff for training in people skills. Useless bunch. Totally frustrated. VAJ.
Developments in Phoenix. It seems that every vacant plot of land is being developed and sand is being dumped on other vacant lots without due consideration for the residents. I understand people need houses but there has been no improvement to existing infrastructure, like roads. Traffic levels have increased tremendously. It’s going to be a nightmare for people working outside Phoenix. Councillors are unusually silent. It’s pure greed by these developers, with scant regard for the people. Educator, Phoenix.
Vodacom is not the only culprit. The disappearance of airtime and data has been going on for a long time and I’m with MTN. Ngcobo.
Thanks Daily News for the Daily Inspiration added to your paper. Finally some good news worth reading – inspired.
I want to transfer a property on to my name. Levies are paid every month but there are fines added on to my levies account. Is there any attorney who can assist me with the transfer? Not willing to pay fines.
I read with some amusement about the Zulu Warriors travelling to the UK for a celebration, after the country just emerged from a massive #FeesMustFall and down with colonialism, or was it colonisation, campaign by predominantly Zulu university students. Did I miss something? How much is this costing the taxpayer? VS.
I received a speeding fine by post today (Aug 23). Date of offence is May 30 and letter was supposedly printed on June 14. Is the eThekwini police trying to pull a fast one? Anyone else experienced this – expired fines only posted now? Umgeni Road, 80 in 60 zone.
Chatsworth dump site unit 3. Refused to take one piece of kitchen cupboard when I know I had the right to dump and all the skips were empty. Please advise 081 270 1973. Devan.
Why are people so lazy? Recycling bags can be got from DSW in Sandile Thusi Road. Plenty parking, pleasant staff. Why must everything be delivered to us? If you care, do it. Coli.
