Telkom is up to no good. Check your wi-fi speed and you’ll be shocked A 4 Mbps line produces speeds less than 1 Mbps. Complaints to Telkom do nothing. Taking your money is all they care about. When are we going to get justice?

I was at Home Affairs in Umgeni with my grandson and was amused when he pointed to pictures of three government officials and asked me if they are wanted by the sheriff. l laughed out aloud. Dada

Crime

South Africa has the best criminal conservation programme in the world. We catch and release all the time.

The arrest of employees at the Joburg municipality for fraud and corruption must extend to all ANCcontrolled municipalities and government departments. Corrupt activities are rife because the fish rots from the head and the fact that political leaders are not sanctioned makes it difficult to sanction ordinary employees. Only a change of political leadership can bring about consequence management. As a civil servant I am seeing this disregard for rules.

Sadly, we are living in a state of lawlessness. We have a species of thugs that have no humanity. How far are we away from civil war or are we there already?

Spokesperson M Gumede says a lot has been achieved but this was not made public. Why the secrecy? DD.

Education

The absolute best news of the week. Headline: Business school offers free Grade 12 accounting classes. Regent Business School you are the perfect example or Batho Pele that I have ever seen. Thank you from all of the pupils who will benefit.

Municipality

eThekwini rates/municipal services are the most expensive. Cape Town and Joburg are so much cheaper. Is this because KZN seems to be so much more corrupt?

Politics

Jayraj Bachu, your continuous attacks on the DA are getting boring. The DA do not run the municipality, so rather vent your anger at the ANC who do not control land grabbing and violent protests. You could not do your job as a councillor and are now sounding like a a bitter man with sour grapes. Graham Rice

What happened to the 500 000 jobs Jacob Zuma promised when he came into office? He must have given them to the Guptas. I just hope he knows how much is 500 000, seeing that he can’t read figures. Maybe the Guptas can spell it out to him. Eish, useless bunch.

In my opinion, this scruffy man Mngxitama just shows his ignorance of the Jewish nation and just spews out toxic statements to hurt. He should be locked up. Pops

Edward Zuma, if you cannot show respect for Pravin Gordhan, why should we have any respect for your father? Joe Soap

Your article “Guptas won’t escape scrutiny”, meaning they are about to leave South Africa . It is unjust and unfair and offends the principles of legality and their human rights. The government must give them diplomatic immunity, in the same manner they gave it to a high-profile black woman who committed a crime while not enjoying immunity when engaged in the commission of the crime and was allowed to leave South Africa. A precedent has been set and all criminals must receive the same “painful and agonising” decision. SAM

Roads

Sanral is being unfair to motorists using the N2 Northbound. The road on the bridge at Umhlali River has been under construction for more than 3 years and the road on the bridge at Umvoti River has been under construction for the past two-plus years. Both stretches of between 200m to 300m are single lanes with a solid wall on the left. Should a truck break down in the stretch under construction, it is going to cause a major traffic problem on the busy N2 highway. There is no work being done on these sites for a long time now. And to add insult to injury, motorists have been paying the full toll fees at the Tongaat and Umvoti toll stations. Yet Sanral is expected to provide good roads for which motorists are being charged a fee. What do other motorists feel about this situation? Fed Up

RTI cops, get off your backsides and check how the heavies are behaving on the N3 between Pietermaritzburg and Durban. Glen

Odds and ends

Remarkably stupendous opening early spring concert by the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra, energetically conducted by international supremo Wolfram Christ. A credit to South Africa. Edmac

?? ?? @AliHossamxii: It was an unfair fight. I mean, can’t expect a UFC fighter to finish off a boxer in a boxing match.
