Constant lawlessness on roads spells trouble for country
Politics
The citizens of South Africa had enough of Jacob Zuma stealing our taxpayers’ money. What has he done with all the R225 000 he got every month? Has he put it in an overseas bank to fool all the taxpayers here? If he cannot pay for his case, he must open up Nkandla as a B&B, hand it over to the government so they can use it for a creche or home for the destitute people who are in that position due to his thieving. All responses for the use of Nkandla for children and old age pensioners. I don’t know if anyone is there using the “fire pool”. Please give us your ideas.
What is really worrying about South Africa is that the government under Ramaphosa’s rule is not doing anything about protest actions and crime. The Marikana incident tells you that Ramaphosa could not control the protest there, hence so many deaths. So how can the rest of South Africa be under control under his leadership?
Nicole Graham is quite obviously threatened by Sharon Hoosen, an Indian female who has outranked her in all avenues. It is sad that the DA leadership has chosen to ignore that there is a lack of Indian leadership in their structures, yet they claim diversity to the people!
What’s going on with the DA? Now they remove their only Indian representative on the executive committee. The Indian voters will punish them for this.
The DA leadership in the eThekwini area are greedy for power. Power that would only benefit them. Instead of the leadership talking about how better they can serve their constituencies after being replaced at exco, they are talking about promotions. TJ.
The stories coming from the DA caucus are no surprise to Glenwood residents. Her attitude to residents was horrific. Rude, bossy and unhelpful. Cllr Tembe has brought new life to our ward. With her in charge, DA won’t get my vote.
Truck Protests
How much longer can our government continue to allow violent and disruptive protests to go on in the name of freedom and democracy? Yesterday, four major roads were blocked off and trucks were set alight in places. It reflects poorly on our government – that it is losing control and giving in to forces that may be intent on making this country ungovernable. The huge risk is that if such situations are allowed to continue, other opportunistic forces (if they do exist) from within or outside could see a chance to step in to take control. We cannot allow any protest to expand to chaos and lawlessness in a way that it affects the normal way of life in a country such as ours.
To our Minister of Police: our country is going through a period of anarchy when tyres and vehicles are burnt ruthlessly. It’s a daily occurrence and it is left unabated. It’s time we, as a country, need to seek divine intervention. No amount of talking by politicians is going to help. Therefore I call upon the authorities to humble themselves and seek the face of God and get the people to turn from their wicked ways and pray. God will hear from heaven and heal this beautiful land that belongs to every kindred and tribe. Nat.
Odds and ends
To Mr M Gumede of Illembe district municipality: Sir, I must compliment you on a job well done. I addressed my issue with you and it only took two days to resolve my problem.
US retreats from UNHRC mainly to avoid being brought to book over its own human rights violations on Mexico/US border, as well as being complicit with Israel with its crimes against Palestine!
There’s a lot of focus on the abuse of women, yet little notice of emotional and psychological abuse that happens in many relationships. After 41 years marriage, it is getting worse now, not better. Emotionally abused wife.
The National Lottery has become greedy by increasing the numbers to 50. Michael.
We are really living in tough times. Electricity rates and water, food prices all going up. All of this is due to the excess increases in fuel prices. How are we going to manage? We cannot cope. The economy is at its lowest. Businesses are suffering. The only thing not going up is our salaries. So how do we survive these increases?
It appears Willemse has an overrated opinion of his rugby ability, coupled with immaturity which accounts for the tantrums. Fitz.
Nurses and doctors at public hospitals are rude and abrupt to patients and the NHI will really accommodate foreign nationals. The public hospitals are in a total mess. NHI is just a scheme to loot money, like other state departments. Our health minister needs to use his common sense and build more public hospitals. This man is fully aware of the state of public hospitals.
We need to investigate who has won the tender to install speed bumps all over Durban in almost every busy street. They are springing up daily and are causing huge delays for emergency vehicles and residents. EThekwini roads dept has been overrun by the tender mafia.
