AmaZulu’s Tade targets only results

AMAZULU hitman Emiliano Tade is not obsessed about statistics.

The Argentinian’s numbers in New Zealand were impressive. Between 2010 and 2011, Tade netted six strikes in 14 appearances. In 2011, Tade became a household name at Auckland City with 35 goals in 47 matches. The 30-year-old’s second stint with City produced 38 goals in 50 matches.

Tade has now netted three strikes in seven matches across all competitions. Despite his decent return with Usuthu, Tade is not overwhelmed by his start.

“I’m happy with the start but not because of goals and the stats. Those are just numbers. I’m happy with the fact that we are getting the results that we desire. I don’t put numbers in my head. I don’t set myself goals as to how many goals I want to score. I don’t believe in expectations. In my world, the word expectations doesn’t exist. I’m just enjoying myself,” Tade said.

He scored Tuesday in the Telkom Knockout as Usuthu beat Cape Town City in Umlazi. His other two goals came against Orlando Pirates and Free State Stars in the league. All of his strikes have been sensational and an example of composure.

“Settling is one thing. The most important thing is adaptation.

It’s all about connecting with the coach, my fellow teammates and the different personalities in the country. That is helping me a lot. The fact that I’ve been away from home for so many years it is the big advantage for me,” he added.

Usuthu meet the Citizens tomorrow at 8.15pm in the Absa Premiership at Cape Town Stadium.

“It is a completely different tournament on Saturday. It will be a completely different story. They will be on their home ground. We’ve put the victory we got against them behind us. Our focus now, it is on the game that we will be playing on Saturday,” Tade explained.

Usuthu are winless on the road, with defeats to SuperSport United, Kaizer Chiefs and Bidvest Wits.

“Those past games don’t lie. It is what it is. We have to start working harder than we’ve done on those matches. We mustn’t put our feet off the pedal.”
