Unfair that Indian areas bear load shedding brunt

On March 27, 1999 at the African Renaissance Festival, Mandela said: “For South Africans… It is a call to join hands against crime, corruption and Aids...” Two categories are selfevident but one wonders now what corruption he was referring to after just 5 years of an ANC government?

Dear Malema: No one gets away from the wrath of God, not even bodyguards can prevent the wrath of God.

Why doesn’t Eskom teach the workers they want to retrench to become inspectors and send them into the township to catch all the people that are not paying for power. I say that they get a bonus for every illegal connection they find, and you will see, Eskom will collect millions. | buzz

Looks like the three wise men from the East (the Gupta brothers), not only captured our leaders, took all our money out of the country, but took the electricity with them too. | Alan T

Patricia de Lille, our coloured people need you as our leader in dirty Wentworth.

Mr Malema please note that only your residential address has been revealed… Nobody asked about your wife’s career.

Now I see the reason why Helen Zille quit her high profile position in the DA. She knew what was coming with all the new faces you see today in the DA.

People visiting Suncoast in Durban beware of con men and women who beg you for money to hire a taxi to get home. Don’t be fooled. If you give them money they exit the rear entrance, walk around the building and enter the main entrance straight into the casino. | R.M

Underprivileged get a golden opportunity. Your article was apt, correct and it seems with success comes greed which we see today in private practice. Our medical aid raped by specialists and their cronies. Invariably you have numerous other specialists referred by the treating doctor. Also do not forget the doctor’s receptionist is also trained to find out if you have gap cover. Many of these doctors also have shares in the hospitals we are referred to. Medical Aids need to investigate doctors’ accounts and make sure patients are not unnecessarily serviced.

Why is it that zones 2 to 8 bear the brunt of load shedding between 4pm to 10pm? It is worth noting that these are predominantly Indian areas. Zones 11 and up only affected at stage 3. Why is there a schedule for between midnight and 8am when there is no load shedding? This schedule should be revisited.

Mark Barnes, CEO of the post office, has published a letter to customers saying “International items… will be back on international delivery standards by early next year.” Is this another way of saying “Christmas mail from overseas will arrive in time for Easter?” | Richard Benson, Cape Town

Msunduzi Library Services will be closed on December 24 and 31. This is appreciated. It is a logical decision and I do not understand why other municipalities cannot do the same.

Telkom delivered the wireless phone but before activation disconnected the original lines. For over a month now I don’t have a working phone and Telkom keeps on saying the problem is being escalated. Frustrated Telkom client.

It is now two months since my last Backchat about the skycar being out of service. What is Durban Tourism doing about this debacle? What is the Council doing? It should take no longer than 48 hours to obtain the parts from anywhere in the world. | Oupa
