Crunch time for Sevilla, AC Milan

-

RECORD winners Sevilla are among those with work to do as the Europa League group stage concludes today while Spanish compatriots Villarreal also need a result to maintain a proud streak of qualification.

Sevilla need to beat Krasnador or match Standard Liege’s result away to Akhisar Belediyespor to ensure they advance from Group J.

Villarreal have survived the group phase on all six of their Europa League entries and a draw at home to Spartak Moscow will extend that run from Group G.

Arsenal, Chelsea, Eintracht Frankfurt, Lazio and Sporting Lisbon are already in Monday’s last-32 draw.

For Krasnador anything less than a four-goal defeat guarantees progress.

Villarreal have new coach Luis Garcia Plaza taking charge of his first game where a draw will see them through, while Spartak must win. In the other game Rapid Vienna will progress with a draw at home to Rangers, who need to win.

“I’ll try to pick players that I trust, with character and personality who can handle the occasion,” manager Steven Gerrard told Sky Sports.

Real Betis will top Group F if they win at Dudelange. In the other game Olympiacos must overturn a 3-1 loss from the first meeting to eliminate AC Milan on head-to-head.

The Devils go through with a draw or narrow defeat.

“Progressing is important. We must be at home in Europe,” said Milan sporting director Leonardo.

RB Salzburg have won Group B with five victories before heading to Celtic, who will join them with a draw or if RB Leipzig fail to beat Rosenborg at home.

Leipzig striker Marcel Sabitzer demanded “better” against the Norwegians after losing 3-0 to Freiburg at the weekend, but Celtic are favourites for the second spot.

“It’d be great achievement to qualify from the group,” goalkeeper Craig Gordon told the club homepage.

“When it was first drawn, I think a lot of people wrote us off. We’ve still got a tough task ahead, but we have a chance and that’s all we could ask for.”

Group I is fascinatingly poised as all four sides could go through or be eliminated in a dramatic finale.

Leaders Genk will be through with a draw at home to Sarpsborg, who must win, but will be out should they lose. In the other game Besiktas will progress with a home draw to Malmo, who also need all three points.

Zenit have won Group C and Slavia Prague will join them in qualifying with a point at home to the Russians. If Slavia lose, the winner of Copenhagen v Bordeaux qualify instead.

In Group A, Bayer Leverkusen will qualify top with victory at AEK Larnaca, though are under pressure from also qualified Zurich who travel to Ludogorets a point behind.

Dinamo Zagreb, at home to Anderlecht, and Fenerbahce, away to Spartak Trnava, have qualified from Group D.

Arsenal have won Group

E before finishing at home to Qarabag with confirmed runners-up Sporting Lisbon hosting Vorskla Poltava.

Group H has been won by Eintracht Frankfurt who hope to maintain their 100 percent record at runners-up Lazio.

Marseille host Apollon Limassol elsewhere.

Dynamo Kiev have topped Group K and finish at home to eliminated Jablonec while Astana need a point in Rennes to join them at the cost of the French.

And in Group L, perfect Chelsea travel to Vidi who need to better BATE Borisov’s result at PAOK to ensure they qualify.

BATE are through with a win, PAOK progress if they win and Vidi lose.
