DA needs Obama’s speech-writer for Maimane

POLITICS

I’m a DA supporter. This year I will not be voting DA. The only thing they do is go to scenes of problems, take pictures and post in the newspaper. They only seek publicity. You only have to look at the Chatsworth local newspapers. Days like this I long for Rajbansi. If the DA is serious about doing something they should start by first employing Barack Obama’s speechwriter for Maimane and, second, to go to grassroots (door to door). That’s what people need (to see our representatives, and do the work required). | DV

Praise God that Isis children will get a chance at a new future in hopefully a new, peaceful country. To survive the anarchy and hatred of the Isis religious cult is in itself a miracle. | VT. KASHMIR… Indians & Muslims please take a step back. Why do you want to import conflict that is not of our making? We live in perfect harmony with each other and thousands of intermarriages are so common between us – all regarded as Indians of South Africa. We have broken ties with India for more than a hundred years and we don’t know India – just sentimental attachments only. So leave them to sort out their issues and focus on our own problems as Indians in this our county of birth – South Africa.

So awful that just a small handful of mad leaders dying to stay in power instigate hate and initiate wars .... | ese

I saw recently a survey found that cellphone data was around four times more expensive here than in Nigeria or Egypt. Why are we tolerating this massive rip-off? It’s the ANC’s regulator that allows this outrage. We, the population, are treated with great disrespect by this government. | Mike.

Cyril is all talk and no action. He still hasn’t acted against corrupt MPs and cabinet members. Stop wasting more money on the state capture commission. Fall guys have been arrested just for show. No action will be taken against ANC cadres.

I have no respect for Robert McBride because of his involvement in the Magoo’s bombing. But this individual keeps popping up in the news for all the wrong reasons. In Standard 1, I learnt the meaning of a “bad penny”. It’s really time for this fellow to sail off into the sunset. His ANC handlers clearly no longer have any use for his services. It seems he might be a millstone around their collective necks. | Angelo

ODDS AND ENDS

Recently I was on a cruise ship where there were many teachers on board. My interaction with some of them was an eye opener to the president’s call for early retirement of public servants over the age of 55. Most said they will be first in the queue to retire. They are disgusted with young people that are coming into the public sector. Most are lazy and had airs about themselves because of their academic qualifications, and are not prepared to learn from seniors. The seniors also realise that service delivery and interactions with the general public will deteriorate further if all 55 years and older are encouraged to retire. In view of their concerns, I urge the president to release only level 1 teachers who are 55 years and older.

Nasa will lose its funding if it were to adopt the Vedas over the big bang theory. The latter is a widely accepted “scientific fact” based on an assumption conjured up by largely western leaning scientists.

The MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison, Mxolisi Kaunda, commends police for the rearrest of three suspects, one was awaiting trail for multiple rape cases. MEC Kaunda, before you brag about how dedicated the police are in fighting crime, please find answers on how the suspects escaped from lawful custody in the first place when there are so many police procedures to ensure it does not happen. | TJ

Department of Home Affairs, Durban. The outside is filthy, full of potholes, long queues, turnover time for certificates is frustrating. Tired of visiting this place and getting nowhere. | MF
