Need a unit to cut the head off crime snake

THE arrest of a debt collector/ bouncer from Springs for his alleged complicity in the murder of Lieutenant- Colonel Charl Kinnear is like grabbing a lizard by the tail – the lizard simply sheds its tail and runs off into the sunset.

This debt collector is the lizard’s tail, a minnow, a foot soldier doing the dirty work of someone higher up the crime chain.

As with dozens of assassinations and slayings in the underworld over the years, from Lolly Jackson to Yurri the Russian, Pete Mihalik, Mark Andrews ( Jackson’s business partner), Ian Jordaan ( Jackson’s attorney) plus dozens more; other than the odd foot soldier being arrested, not a single conviction has been made at the top of the crime chain.

Until such time as the crime snake’s head is chopped off, it will continue to slither through society.

What is needed now is an organisation like that which existed in 1930 in the US, known as “The Untouchables”. They brought down Al Capone. This organisation should answer directly to the president, cutting out corrupt middle men, corrupt police and corrupt politicians. Such a grouping is long overdue and we have people such as Johan van Loggerenberg and Vusi Pikoli waiting in the wings to be called to service.
