Activist out on bail
HONG KONG: Hong Kong democracy activist Joshua Wong was granted bail yesterday after being charged in court in connection with participating in an unauthorised assembly in October 2019 and violating an anti- mask law.
If found guilty, Wong, 23, could face up to six years in jail. He and other activists face prosecution over offences related to protests last year. His case was adjourned until December 18. Wong had visited Washington, appealing to the US for support. His US visits angered Beijing.
