- ZAINUL DAWOOD

A FRANTIC search for Pinetown businessman Dhanpall Sanjith Rajcoomar is under way by his family and volunteer groups in Durban.

Rajcoomar, 52, conducts business by collecting and delivering items with his Isuzu truck.

Reaction Unit South Africa ( Rusa) spokesperson Prem Balram said Rajcoomar was expected to pick up a window frame in the Bellair area at midday on Tuesday.

His son Akshay Rajcoomar said they all left for work as normal in the morning. His father was supposed to meet a client and take a load of items to Springfield.

“We’re using all methods to try and locate him. We are also trying to find his phone and praying he is found soon,” he said.

Balram said Rajcoomar had not been heard from since.

“CCTV footage obtained from the area confirmed that his truck was driven by someone other than him. His cellphone is switched on, however, there is no answer,” Balram said.

Siyaya Reaction Unit spokesperson Ivan Nagooran, said Rajccoomar’s truck was found in Welbedacht, near Chatsworth.

Akshay said the front tyre was deflated.

Yesterday morning, Tactical Shooting Team spokesperson Rivaaj Ramdas and volunteers had been searching for Rajcoomar’s phone in Hillhead Road in Malvern.

Police spokesperson Captain Nqobile Gwala, said SAPS Malvern had opened a missing person’s report.

Police were still searching for him.
