Edith sets fine example all metro staff can follow

ETHEKWINI MUNICIPALITY

I had to beg the municipality for months to repair a burst water pipe and one of their own workers admitted to huge corruption at the municipality. The agents at the water and sanitation department are extremely rude. Remember, we are tax and ratepayers.

Officials at the mayor’s toll free number are rude and never reply to emails. Hope the mayor looks into it. Don’t have a toll free number if the public cannot be assisted.

Blue Lagoon toilets. What a pleasure to visit clean smelling public toilets in Durban, all thanks to Edith. Keep up the great work, my dear lady. I wish the rest of the Durban metro staff follows your example.

The street lights in Wentworth and Merebank remain on all day for the past six months. This has been reported to the councillor and the electricity department on many occasions but to no avail.

Service delivery protests by informal residents began at midnight in Effingham. It is now almost 6am with not a single police presence in sight. What protection do we, the taxpayers and over- charged consumers of municipal services get from law enforcement?

Why do some chiropractors advertise as doctors. Is it to do with status? These two professions are studied at very different levels at very different institutions at different lengths of time and costs. Please do not confuse the ignorant public.

Cricket SA is in for a shock when it discovers that most cricket supporters will abandon the idea of attending cricket matches, due to the extreme corruption and mismanagement. Also, the board consists largely of overweight inexperienced and unqualified people who never played national or international cricket in their entire life. They are there mostly for the large salary and perks.

Hey, Mr Joe Soap. Mr Cele needs a plan A first which he clearly does not have before having a plan B for the crime wave. | Thanks Tony

The sports minister has finally stepped in to get rid of the incompetents who have made

SA cricket the laughing stock in world cricket. Regrettably, that is cold comfort to cricket fans and supporters. With the ANC’S record at Eskom, Prasa, Transnet, SAA et al, what are the chances of them redeeming a situation that’s little short of farcical and catastrophic? Don’t expect too much of the Proteas in the foreseeable future – presuming of course that the ICC will even have them. Tragic

Malema, you’re next that’s why you don’t like Hollywood- style arrests.

I’m willing to pay for a one- way air ticket, all costs included, for Julius Malema and his racist political party the EFF, to the moon.

I previously had a lot of respect for Thuli Madonsela as she had done wonders in exposing the rot in the country. But it now seems she is trying to seek attention with ridiculous comments, the latest being amnesty for thieves. Ask her to go to see for herself what the corrupt have done to the people who should have had a better life after the ANC came into power. Do you really think by giving them a slap on the wrist they are going to change? Our people are crying and dying, yet you see these looters showing off on social media their fancy lifestyles.

Who is to blame for road carnage? Several factors – little or no speed control by authorities, reckless driving, speeding, road rage/ aggression, drivers who have illegal or no licences, cars in dangerous mechanical condition due to age or lack of maintenance, poor road conditions due to lack of proper maintenance, speed limits need to be reduced ( speed does kill). Points system will NOT reduce road carnage. Adhering to road rules, stop speeding, drive in a responsible manner and authorities do your job, bring back lots of speed traps and road blocks, fix the roads.
