Ramaphosa a wolf in sheep’s clothing

-

I AM TRULY ashamed to say that of all the presidents of the ANC since 1994, Cyril Ramaphosa is so far, proving to be, the smoothest talker and the worst performer.

President Trump, despite all the ridicule heaped on him and the ignorance of any of his achievements, still trumps Ramaphosa hands- down regarding fulfilling his promises.

Not only was Ramaphosa the deputy president to president Jacob Zuma, but he was also parachuted to the presidency even before being democratically elected. So he has had ample time to execute all his plans, in light of the promises he made to the voters.

It was Ramaphosa himself who pleaded with the citizens to give the ANC another chance just before the last election. But when one looks at Ramaphosa’s performance so far, it becomes clear that very few if any of the promises he made have been achieved.

Instead, Ramaphosa has fulfilled all the wishes of ANC conferences including expropriation of land without compensation, cadre deployment, and party propaganda and fooling the voters.

There is more economic depression, more hopelessness, higher prices for basic foods, further economic downgrading and more sweet words and grim realities glaring at us than during Zuma’s time.

The one thing that Ramaphosa excels at or in, is pacifying the on and off, sweet and sour temperament of South Africans through the favour of the media and wool- gathering emotional speeches.

The greatest danger about Ramaphosa is that as he goes about charming instead of delivering, he is bringing the deadwood of his comrades behind him.

It is a big mistake to separate Ramaphosa from the ANC because he is the ANC, the ANC is him, and without the ANC he will not remain president regardless of how much the media adores and cuddles him. KHOTSO K. D MPLEKO | Mangaung
