Potholes 110% full thanks to the recent rainfall

POLITICS

Julius Malema together with your violent followers are the real racists in this country because they are a dangerous and racist party.

Why is Malema not charged for saying he will go to the policemen’s homes and attack their families?

Former ANC president Jacob Zuma was charged for corruption, current ANC Secretary- General Ace Magashule was charged for corruption, former Durban mayor Zandile Gumede was charged for corruption, current ANC chairperson ANC KZN chairperson Mike Mabuyakhulu was charged for corruption, and the list is endless. Now tell me, do you think this country will come right with such people in power?

ODDS AND ENDS

I really wish South Africa could have random breathalyzer tests like they do in Australia. It will be the most wonderful thing to see. We won’t have so many accidents on our roads.

Wake up South African women. The only change for GBV will be to bring back the death sentence. Call for a referendum so that the government is forced to act. Protest groups will not move the government.

Now we got those two ridiculous adverts back on TV, those two guys on about buying that house with their good “credit score”. Why should we give all our personal details to people who just want to lend us money at exorbitant rates … and that guy winning that monster monkey at the fair, who are they kidding? The policeman was correct to pull him over because it sat in the back seat and was restricting the driver’s view to the rear. | Terry Moss

CRICKET

I’m looking forward to the start of the new cricket season, especially international cricket. I remember how sad I felt when the Proteas tour of India was cut short because of Covid- 19. But then again, that tour was a waste of money and it was supposed to have been postponed earlier, however, that’s a conversation for another day. Back to the Proteas, I can’t wait to watch the boys in green and gold. I hope they will be allowed to express themselves. If a cricketer wants to take the knee, they should take the knee. Side note: the Hollywoodbets Dolphins are doing incredibly well in the domestic Test series. | TN

Mark Boucher was part of the clique that made life difficult for black cricketers. They were aided and abetted by their captain Graham Smith. The same Graham Smith was brought in to resurrect cricket and he immediately started to bring in his former comrades into the setup. Boucher was named coach. So now the coach instructs the cricketers not to take the knee. Why are they listening to him? Tell him to go fly a kite. Apartheid coach. Get rid of him and Smith. Why are CSA allowing Boucher to rule on this? Isn’t he just an employee?

ETHEKWINI MUNICIPALITY

Local politicians report. Due to the recent rainfall, potholes in the city and surrounding areas have been reported to be 110% full. | AK 48

Sherwood, Durban North and various surrounding areas complaints of mobs of mosquitoes in recent months have left residents on so many social media platforms baffled.

Leaving many uncomfortable, trying various repellents. Is the ethekwini Municipality spraying the drains and are aware, and if so, what are our preventative measures, advice and solutions? | Shameema Oma

How very sad that the tents for homeless men at the old drive- in sight have been taken away. For many of them it was a sheltered place to sleep, have a shower and perhaps a meal. Now they have nowhere to go and are roaming the streets again, dirty and hungry. So sad.

How is it, and why is it that the people who rob, steal, rape and commit heinous crimes against civil society, also commit crimes against humanity including those in the higher hierarchy? They first say they are innocent until proven guilty, and then hire top level advocates who then say their client won't receive a fair trial and then the crowd goes wild.
