Juju, JZ meeting height of hypocrisy
IF THERE is any evidence that should disabuse the public it should never trust politicians, look at the meeting between former president Jacob Zuma and EFF leader Julius Malema.
They are, across the board, dishonest individuals whose public personas are a sham and is meant and take the public for granted as they pursue their crass self-interest.
The EFF made it one of its parliamentary objectives to humiliate and personally insult Zuma whenever he appeared before that body. The attacks included calling him an incorrigible thief and a criminal who belonged in jail. That, today, the EFF leadership asserts Zuma is its so-called “father figure” is the height of hypocrisy and the pinnacle of insult to the South African public.
Zuma, who projects himself as a man who strictly adheres to strict traditional values that demand that if your “child” has insulted you, they should apologise before you can accord them an audience, is no different.
Of course, in this democratic SA where forgiveness is such a monumentally abused concept, where the devil incarnates have been sanctified, one can excuse Zuma and the EFF’S behaviour.
But the public will no longer be fooled. Zuma and Malema are today in the same boat and have decided to pool their resources to fight back against what they perceive as their common enemy: President Cyril Ramaphosa and the Zondo Commission.
