Mr Mayor, what are you doing about city’s roads?

-

ODDS AND ENDS

THE Mayor of Durban is calling for the taxi industry to be subsidised. This is “rich” coming from a municipality that cannot put together enough mud to solve the pothole problem in the city.

Mr Durban Mayor, what are you doing about plastic bag pollution, and non-functioning street lights. Your street light section gives reference numbers then all is forgotten. Don’t you travel at night to see your city lights not working?

An open letter to the department in charge of roads in South Africa: Please step forward and tell South Africa why our cars need to be “roadworthy” in this country, while the roads are not “roadworthy”?

In any organisation, when an employee is suspended, the employee can no longer report for duty at work or represent the organisation in any way during the period of suspension. If the suspended employee is proved innocent of whatever the infringement may have been, then the employee is usually reinstated. However, until a verdict is reached after a trial or disciplinary action, the employee is barred from any participation in the organisation. So why does Mr Ace say that his suspension is draconian and apartheid-era type of action? The step-aside policy had been finalised by the national executive committee of the ANC and should be respected. If not, then the party will have many problems. Mr Ace claims that he is innocent of any criminal offence. He should allow the court to decide that after his trial. If he is proven innocent, then his suspension will be lifted. His defiance is a bad example for future infringements committed by others in the organisation. All of them will claim innocence.

Speed limits that are too high are repeatedly blamed by experts for South Africa’s gut-wrenching road carnage, but since 2011 when then Minister of Transport S’bu Ndebele called for a national roads limit of 100 km/h, our government has failed to act and thousands continue to die. Also the failure to copy the overseas limit of 30 km/h on suburban streets leads to South

Africa having almost the world’s highest rate of pedestrian road deaths. President Cyril Ramaphosa save lives by immediately ordering safe speed limits that been requested. | Richard Benson, Road Safety Action Campaign.

COVID19

Is it because the top dogs have had their vaccines that there is no urgency for the rest of the population to be vaccinated?

Just to remind you top dogs that no vaccines means no voters because we’ll be dying (like in India) then there will be no government. | Joe Soap

At the end of February, while listening to a virtual spiritual discourse from our ashram in lndia, at the end of the discourse our divine spiritual master told all the devotees in lndia to prepare for a massive attack from this coronavirus.

He warned people to protect themselves by wearing mask, washing hands, keeping distance, and good hygiene. This was two months before the massive attack. People always ignore the words of great souls, history has proved this. They are able to see the future, but ignorant people ignore their words, and later blame God and government.

The International Criminal Court should be charge governments for genocide. To allow political rallies to take place and not to ban a major religious festival makes them complicit to mass murder. The pandemic infections and deaths in India are staggering to say the least because of the self-serving interests of Modi and his party’s politicians.
