Most bleak period in annals of history

-

WELL, it will go down in the annals history, if any of us survives, as the most bleak, depressing, unproductive and useless period after this Covid pandemic is hopefully over, if:

• Children still continue being spoilt and demanding, love dodging school to stick their heads in Playstations and take their parents for granted.

• Teenagers, too, of both genders, rely totally on their parents for everything, and also demand fancy material stuff in spite of knowing that their parents are battling to make ends meet. And are most reluctant to help out with errands.

• Parents still pressuring their children to obtain the highest marks in school, despite all the constraints during Covid.

• Parents bickering over petty issues and resorting to quick-fix divorces, simply because they are fed up seeing each other’s faces over the normal limit during the virus period.

• Supermarkets and other “service providers” playing dominoes with essential food prices. Major shareholders voting for super increases one day, then dying on the ventilator the next.

• Government ministers still dodging trials on corruption charges, then leaving the court in arrogant triumph, only to head towards the Covid ICU to meet their maker!

• Presidents and prime ministers, emirs and kings of different countries still war-mongering in their own countries while continuing to conspire and interfere in the affairs of other countries for political gain, or to grab natural resources.

• If we continue ignoring to plan better schools, health-care facilities, houses and employment avenues for the common man and stick to uplift only ourselves, then perhaps we deserve another mutation that either serves that lesson or wipes us all out!
