Cosatu should help unpaid ANC staff with salaries

-

ANC EMPLOYEES

Apparently ANC employees are still to be paid. Now this means the ANC has learnt that money does not grow on trees. Look at how the municipalities, SABC, Eskom, Transnet and SAA were bankrupted. What is even more perplexing is that the ANC staff did not foresee this happening at their workplace. | NEVILLE BRITS

Cosatu should assist the employees of their alliance, if they cannot, then this means the biggest trade federation in South Africa is only a money-making scam. It is supposed to address the issue of the workers but when it comes to collection of union fees, it is the first to collect. | BARRY FISHER

I still cannot believe that some of us in the country vote for the ANC. This is sad. Can we not all march to Luthuli House? These are our fellow brothers and sisters and they are employees of the ANC, not members of the ANC. I am sure some of them did not vote for the party. | BONGANI KHUMALO

Something does not look right in the ANC employee saga. It is very suspicious. The employees are trying to pull the wool over our eyes. How can they say they have not been paid by their employer, the ANC, and still proudly wear the ANC regalia and colours? There is something sinister going on here. They are all gaining from the looting and they are trying to distract us. | MICHAEL SEWDASS

NETBALL SOUTH AFRICA MOURNING

People have a reckless disregard for other people’s lives. Road accidents are way out of balance and it is only the beginning of the month. I’m even more worried about the next 38 days. | GWENDELINE

CHRISTOFFELS

So sad to read about the accident that killed young netball players. My deepest condolences to their families and friends. | ROMEO KOEBERG

The sudden loss of a young life is sad indeed. May the families and friends find strength in the Lord, who is our shepherd, to deal with such a devastating tragedy.

A speedy recovery to the admitted girls. The Lord we serve will never leave nor forsake us.

Trust and obey. | MAKAZI KUNENE

ODDS AND ENDS

The beaches in Durban are full, but that is nothing new. It was like this during election campaign rallies, and it should not be an issue now. Covid-19 must go on vacation. It is the holiday season.

I guess it was also campaigning for its own party during elections, so it had no time to spread around. | MTHUNZI MARWANQANA

I hereby wish to convey my condolences to the Ebrahim and

Khan families upon the demise of Ebrahim Ismail Ebrahim.

Thinking of you during your time of bereavement. May the Almighty Creator grant you patience and strength during your time of bereavement. I worked with Ebrahim and his brother, Ahmed Gora, on various projects for almost two decades, both locally in South Africa and abroad but mostly on the issues tackling the Kurdish human rights.

May the Almighty Creator illuminate his abode in paradise. |

SHEIK SHAHEED STAKALA

Since the start of the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children campaign, the cases seem to have mysteriously risen. Bring back the death sentence, then you will see a 200% decrease in these cases.
