Rate hikes make no sense during times of hardship

BANKS

SHOWER thoughts on the interest hikes… Always question the intentions after contemplating the results.

During economic hardship, it does not make sense to punish those who owe you money, unless future repossession through bankruptcy is the real intention. This would be unethical, and criminal in nature by the Reserve Bank and its allies.

It makes more sense during difficult economic times to lower the interest rates. This would improve the cash flow of everybody and have a positive influence on all local economic sectors. Do you want to stimulate the economy or kill it? Rather freeze the credit card if curbing debt is the aim. | Ian Zondagh

OUR government is also not making it easy.

Over 35 years, you become part of the forgotten generation and it becomes difficult to find employment unless you have a connection. People need to survive. It’s hard out here. | Vanessa Cookson

PRICING

WE WERE deceived by the corporations when in the beginning goods were offered cheaper than you could grow or produce yourself.

Once they had everyone hooked on convenience, people relaxed their own self-sufficiency. Once this was achieved, corporations started to raise their prices.

Look where it has gotten us. A new set of self-appointed royalty, living in disgusting opulence, while people starve.

We are all complicit. We allowed them this control. It’s time for total global societal reform. Seize all assets and titles, and arrest all who have committed these crimes against humanity. Redistribute the collective global wealth to all Earth’s people. | Stephen Culloch

SINCE when does any company, especially the large chain retailers, need an excuse to raise prices?

Especially, as they are constantly telling us how lucky we are that they didn’t raise prices by as much as their competitors, or how much we can save by spending more money with them. It is astonishing that they think so little of the intelligence of the public that they persist with this farce, especially when faced with the fact of their massively inflated and obscene profits. | Keith Mears

WHEN you have a natural chicken and one that has been given steroids to grow faster, you will find out that the taste is not the same.

Even its own bone is thicker than the bone of the real natural chicken that eats natural food to grow, because there is a process that is happening. Unfortunately, we live in a world where there’s a lot to be destroyed. Humanity is destroying nature instead of preserving it. | Kholisile Lipota

THERE is no African who hates another African. Yes, poverty might have placed us on such a trajectory, unfortunately.

People are competing over limited resources to feed families.

South Africa’s economy remains owned and controlled by white people. Over 70% of our youth are unemployed. Over 28 million people depend on state grants. That’s a recipe for disaster. South Africa is a time bomb waiting to explode. From the outside, South Africa looks nice and rosy – it’s not. Apartheid economic structures are still intact.

Black people languish in poverty, racism and inequalities. So, no my brother, we don’t hate you, we are just hungry like you.
