Eskom’s problem is within, staff morale the start

-

ESKOM

The biggest problem is that there is a power struggle between white and black. Who, why and what caused the Eskom problem is not the issue. The problem needs to be fixed. I suspect that Cyril is dragging his feet, being that his brother-inlaw has his own energy agenda. In the meantime, while that drama is being played out, one thing is clear – more qualified people are needed to fix this problem. Science does not pander to culture, race or politics. Those who are qualified in this field need to be consulted. | BRENDAN PAVITT

Eskom’s problem is within; staff morale is the starting point. You cannot have 10 people come and fix one problem. The workers do not have confidence in themselves. Second, stop calling your employees thieves and accusing them of corruption. Not everyone there is a thief. Third, stop appointing people who have no knowledge of electricity as managers or CEO. This requires well-experienced engineers. Last, MEC, premiers including the president, stop promising people free electricity. Just be honest with them and tell them how it is impossible to have free electricity. | SFISO MLONDO

ODDS AND ENDS

South Africa is rich in gold, diamonds, platinum and many other minerals, including coal. And

yet we are always going to these international monetary meetings with a begging basket. With our mineral wealth, we should be selfsupporting and all citizens should be comfortable. Unfortunately, the ANC has allowed the country to slip into the gutter. | JANET OBERY

The reason behind climate change is humans who have lost humanity. The way people are so heartless. I am not surprised God shows His wrath through weather this way, especially here in SA. We are such a blessed and beautiful continent and country but we are presided over by greedy monsters who are self-centred. Imagine a leader living in a glass house but who does not feel any sympathy when seeing an ordinary citizen living in a plastic/cardboard house. SBONGA QUNGEBE

The fact remains that the genuine Public Protector Mkhwebane is the only PP to ever achieve three consecutive clean audits. Even the self-proclaimed heroine, Thuli Madonsela, never achieved such. I am proud of advocate Mkhwebane and her extremely good work. All the haters are eating humble pie. They resorted to the biased S194 process just because she touched the untouchables. | THABANI SHANDU Let us analyse the ANC conference. This high contestation is Kwazulu-natal versus Mzansi Africa, because most of people from this province gang up against their organisation. If you hear their views about how the country is performing, they keep blaming Ramaphosa instead of blaming themselves. They are part of their organisation in KZN. They failed to provide us with service delivery, but they are blaming the national government for their failure. I think they are going to fail to be elected in that conference because they are using pure propaganda. | GEBASHE
