With the way things are, we might lose SA to West

POLITICS

Looking at everything the ANC has touched, it’s either n ruins, bankrupt or has no resources, all because of their corruption. Truly amazing how a government has managed to estroy an entire country in 28 years. | DARRYL MAZE

South Africa was making progress. Yes, the presidents had their flaws and failed on many instances but overall, their ANC worked for the country. Yes, not as fast as people desired but hange for the better was indeed happening. Unlike now where the ANC is making sure their pockets are filled and offshore accounts are overflowing with stolen money. | BONGANI XALISA

WORLD

These Western countries like the US and Britain are forcing South Africa to switch to green energy and wants us to believe they are the so-called fighters against global warming. They are the very same countries that are still using coal and fossil fuels but yet they want to use South Afica – a country that is rich in minerals like gas and coal – to go green. The question is why are they so eager for Africa to go green? The answer is very simple: they are after Africa’s minerals. | ANDRE COETZEE

South Africa was under pressure of Russia and the US. When Ramphosa was in the US he was asked about his stance on Russia. Innocent women and children killed for the sake of oil. Russia also wants to take over as superpower from America. | MOSIZE JURY

Ramaphosa with his loud mouth will land us under sanctions from the West if he does not watch his words. This country’s economy is so close to collapsing that just mild sanctions will bring it completely down. We no longer have the knowledge, infrastructure, expertise and industries to withstand sanctions. It was all destroyed by the

ANC. Now we must grovel in front of other nations. | Joe Hall

ODDS and ENDS

In this modern, digital day and age, being connected to the internet is crucial. It also gives poorer people access to a massive library of information that they can use to make better informed decisions, especially regarding politics. It is also giving them ways to improve their lives overall, and become higher contributors to the country, economically. Knowledge is power, after all. I see some people are complaining, because they fail to see the bigger picture.

| JONATHAN DAVIES

The culture of not seeing anything beyond complaining is killing the very core of this country. We have become a ountry of whiners and it is pathetic. In this day and age, people who are gainfully employed and those who are entrepreneurs/ self employed have a civic duty to uplift those who are less fortunate, through taxes. That is how the global community eradicates poverty. Obviously, we are being fleeced by the powers that be, but whatever little that they do not touch, let it better others. The things that my family and I take for granted, on a daily basis, are a luxury for some. Unless, of course, one feels that the next person’s misery somehow brings them joy. Some years ago, the UN made a declaration that access to the internet is a basic human right. |
