Dare to care: make some beggar’s day
I WONDERED what it felt like to have to beg at an intersection, in the hope that some kind passer-by would give me some money, to sustain myself for another day.
My old, filthy blanket, and a plastic bag with all my worldly possessions, is all I have ... the roof over my head the stars, the moon and sometimes, the rain, thunder and lightning that make my body and soul tremble.
I thought of rummaging through trash, in an attempt to salvage something that could be sold.
I saw myself waiting on the side of the road, in the hope that someone needed my labour for a day.
Christmas is upon us. It’s time to open our hearts and our wallets, and make someone’s day better.
Stop wondering.
