Cellphone store robbed at gunpoint

AN MTN store employee was robbed, at gunpoint, of 15 cellphones and cash.

Tuesday’s robbery took place at the Westville Mall, in Dawncliffe in Westville, and information on social media says the two armed robbers fled in a white Renault Duster.

Police spokesperson Constable Thenjiswa Ngcobo said a woman said at 3.50pm on Tuesday that she was accosted by two armed suspects.

“At gunpoint, the suspects robbed her of 15 cellphones and cash before fleeing,” Ngcobo said. “A case of business robbery was opened at the Westville police station.”
