Zim government must tolerate opposition
IT IS sad the Zimbabwean ruling political party has great intolerance of opposition political parties. Zimbabwe cannot be a one-party state.
The presence of an opposition party prevents the ruling party from misusing their power. Due to intolerance of opposition members and activists, some members of the opposition political party have fled Zimbabwe because of fear for their choices they made to support the opposition political party.
The Zimbabwean government should respect and tolerate opposition political parties and stop persecuting of opposition party members.
THE CITIZENS COALITION FOR CHANGE
AS WE acknowledge and honour World Tolerance Day, the president of Zimbabwe should be reminded and pressured to tolerate opposition.
The world should be united and call for the chaotic Zimbabwean government to respect the rule of law, respect human rights, respect people’s choices in voting systems and profoundly tolerate opposition.
If President Emmerson Mnangagwa fails to tolerate opposition, he should tender his resignation and stop Zimbabweans going to other foreign countries where there is greater tolerance of views and opinions.
